Alabama is earning a stellar reputation for its golf courses, and Andalusia won’t disappoint. The private country club offers a challenging 18-hole course, while LBW College invites duffers to try out its nine-hole public terrain.
Additionally, we offer 10 recreation parks with a total of 20 tennis courts, two public swimming pools and 18 ball fields sophisticated enough to host district, state and regional baseball tournaments. (Well, they don’t call us the Baseball Capital of the South for nothing!) Youth sports leagues ensure these facilities enjoy a healthy workout year-round.
Thanks to our rolling topography, a scenic stroll through nature is just a step outside your door. Conecuh National Forest is an official stop on the Alabama Bureau of Tourism & Travel birding trails list, thanks to the abundance of songbirds that nest here year-round. Camping, boating, fishing, swimming and other water activities abound for outdoor enthusiasts at Gantt Lake and Point A Lake.
When plans call for a dash of organization, the Kiwanis Community Center and Fairgrounds can host 40,000 square feet of facilities designed to hold trade shows, banquets and special events. The adjoining Covington County Arena, a $4.5 million facility, features indoor and outdoor accommodations to facilitate any size rodeo, fair, or special event. The Opp Jaycees’ Rattlesnake Rodeo, held annually in March, now calls this complex home.
