A popular event in April is the Children’s Festival in the Park. The festival offers inflatables, a small children’s area, a petting zoo, entertainment and fireworks. Held at Johnny Henderson Family Park, the event draws thousands of children from throughout the region. For those who have a need for speed, April brings Thunder on Tholocco and the thrill of powerboat racing to Fort Rucker.

For those who enjoy the unusual, Enterprise hosts the World’s Smallest St. Patrick’s Day parade. Consisting of one person of Irish decent and featured on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” the parade has enjoyed national as well as local attention.
In October, the downtown Boll Weevil Festival draws crowds from throughout the area. With an emphasis on something for the entire family, the festival includes a children’s costume contest, wholesome entertainment, pony rides, children’s activities, arts, crafts, farmer’s market and a taste of great Southern foods.
Enterprise is host to a wide variety of activities throughout the year to include the Boll Weevil 100 Bike Ride, “Y” Day, Christmas Parade, Relay for Life, Farm-City Week and many school, church and club-sponsored special events. Nearby Fort Rucker and the surrounding area also partner for several large events to include the 4th of July celebration.

The day includes nationally recognized singers, vendors, an Army Band concert, and, of course, spectacular fireworks.

Enterprise is a planned “strolling excursion” of historic downtown. Maps of Walk! Enterprise are available from the Chamber website www.enterprisealabama.com.

No trip to Enterprise can be called complete without a visit to the Boll Weevil Monument. Standing in the center of downtown, the Boll Weevil Monument was dedicated on December 11, 1919, and stands as a testament to man’s ability to overcome adversity. At the base of the monument reads the inscription: “In profound appreciation of the Boll Weevil and what it has done as the herald of prosperity, this monument was erected by the citizens of Enterprise, Coffee County, Alabama.” The monument continues to remind citizens and visitors alike that resilience and resourcefulness are trademarks of Enterprise citizens.
