Enterprise Ozark Community College

The Enterprise School System is comprised of six elementary schools, three junior high schools and one high school. Student enrollment in the entire system exceeds 5,000 with nearly 400 professionals and a support staff of 200. The Enterprise City Schools were one of the first to be fully accredited by the Alabama Department of Education and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Students consistently score above state and national averages on ACT and Stanford Achievement Tests.

Education from K-6 is provided by: College Street Elementary, Harrand Creek Elementary, Hillcrest Elementary, Holly Hill Elementary, Pinedale Elementary and Rucker Blvd Elementary. The Junior High Schools are comprised of: Coppinville Junior High, Dauphin Junior High and Enterprise Junior High. All of the Elementary and Junior High schools focus on progressive education, high moral value and enable students to become productive and responsible citizens. The school system also focuses on the physical and emotional well being of all its students. School cleanliness, security, a well-maintained bus service and an award-winning food service program are highlights within the school system. Special education programs are also available for the gifted and for those with physical or mental challenges.

Rated as one of the top 10 schools in Alabama is the Enterprise High School. Seventy-five percent of all graduating seniors take college exams and 80 percent of graduates go on to post secondary education. Many of the student’s extra-curricular activities have placed first in national competitions, making the Enterprise High School the pride of all residents.

Enterprise Ozark Community College (EOCC) consists of four locations: the Enterprise Campus, the Ozark Aviation Campus, the Fort Rucker site, and the Aviation Center in Mobile. The College, which is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, grants associate in arts, associate in science, and associate in applied science degrees as well as various program certificates.

Students planning to transfer to a four-year institution may prepare by taking courses necessary for any major field of study. Credits transfer to any state-funded institution. These students may take courses in the traditional classroom manner or through distance learning on the Internet.

The aviation programs are offered at the Ozark Campus and include general aviation technology, aviation maintenance with air frame and powerplant, and avionics technology. EOCC is the only college in Alabama with FAA certified airframe and powerplant training programs. The college is also working with industry partners to implement an associate degree in Simulator Systems Technology.

Students enjoy a variety of organizations and activities throughout the academic year. For some of these, the College has received state and national recognition. These outstanding organizations include, Phi Theta Kappa, the National Honor Society of American two-year colleges, The First Impressions Team (FIT), which leads the orientation programs for new students, and the award winning choir, the Entertainers.

Athletics have been an important part of the college experience as well. The Enterprise Campus boasts of outstanding men’s basketball, women’s basketball, softball and baseball teams.

Enterprise Ozark Community College offers adult education programs that help adults prepare for the GED, and special programs such as the summer Youth College.
