Industry
Monroe County is home to an assortment of industrial companies, all of which take pleasure in the area’s exceptional opportunities for expansion. In addition to the already established industrial base in the county are plenty of companies seeking out a perfect spot for development — and Monroe County has proven to be an attractive site for relocation.
Plenty of entities are set in place to aid in successful development, such as the City of Monroeville and Monroe County Commission, the Monroeville Commercial Development Authority, the Alabama Tombigbee Regional Planning Commission, the Alabama Development Office, the Alabama Power Company, the Southern Pine Electric Cooperative and the South Alabama Gas Company. The county has also joined forces with Conecuh and Escambia to form the Air Coastal Gateway EDA, and also plays an active role in the six-county Southwest Alabama Economic Development Alliance.
