Sylacauga’s residents and visitors are never at a loss for things to do.

The Isabel Anderson Comer Museum & Art Center offers an array of informative and entertaining exhibits.

Its collection includes several original sculptures by the famous Italian artist Guiseppe Moretti and large collections of Indian artifacts.

The B. B. Comer Memorial Library, which won a National Award for Library Service in 2000, was expanded to 39,000 square feet in 2003.

In addition to over 90,000 volumes and the Youth Services Department that occupies the entire second floor, the library now offers a meeting room complex for cultural arts programs and for use by the business and industrial community. Comer Library has an array of “cradle to the grave” services that include outreach to preschool children, senior citizens and mentally challenged adults. It offers computers with wireless Internet access and a catalog that is accessible via the Internet.

The Sylacauga Arts Council hosts a number of programs for the general public and area schools. Sylacauga’s annual Chalaka Arts and Crafts Show attracts nationally, regionally and locally renowned artists. Other popular events include the annual “Crazy Daze” and the Christmas parade.
