The Town of Buckeye, a hub to the Southwest, is centrally located in a major transportation network in the Southwest region of Maricopa County. Excellent access to Phoenix, California, and Mexico is provided by a combination of transportation facilities. Strategically located 35 miles west of Phoenix along Interstate 10, Buckeye is served by a network of roadways, the Union Pacific Railroad, the Buckeye Municipal Airport and Greyhound Bus Lines.

The Union Pacific Railroad provides 17 miles of freight service through the town of Buckeye. National carrier Amtrak provides long distance passenger rail service.

For air travelers throughout the region, Buckeye is conveniently located near Sky Harbor International Airport. Most major carriers operate from the airport, offering hundreds of daily non-stop and connecting flights to destinations around the country and throughout the world. Air travelers have consistently ranked Sky Harbor near the top of the list for convenience, service and connectivity.

The Buckeye Municipal Airport, while still in its early stages of development, has an economic impact of $2.8 million per year. This impact originates from a variety of aviation-related activities, including commercial air service, general aviation activities, cargo transport, military activities and travel and tourism. Understanding the aviation demand potential, the town of Buckeye recently prepared an airport master plan with the objective of targeting more effective use of the airport as a corporate general aviation center.

Greyhound Bus Lines operates severalinter-city bus trips between Phoenix and Southern California that stop in Buckeye. Several trips per day in each direction stop in downtown Buckeye. Ajo Stage Lines operates several trips per week between Ajo and Phoenix via Gila Bend, depending on passenger demand. This van service will stop on request in Buckeye.
