
Chino Valley is in the vicinity of a number of local and regional attractions, ranging from informational museums to breathtaking scenic tours.
Nearby Prescott is home to three distinct museums and an entertaining casino. The Phippen Art Museum is comprised of both permanent and rotating exhibits of modern and historical artwork of the great American West. Here, patrons can peruse through paintings, sculptures, etchings and authentic Native American artifacts.
Created by poet and state historian, Sharlot M. Hall, the Sharlot Hall Museum highlights a number of historical buildings including the Territorial Governor’s Mansion and the first cabin constructed in Prescott. The museum grounds, located in downtown Prescott, consists of a beautiful garden, amphitheater, gift shop and two extensive exhibition halls featuring displays and items representing the area’s heritage.
In addition, a number of interesting items, including a 3,000 year old split twig figure, paintings by Kate Cory and an array of further items such as pottery and kachina dolls can be found at the Smoki Museum in Prescott. And the famous Whiskey Row, once home to more than 40 saloons along a full block, still hails as a focal point in Prescott, drawing in a substantial number of visitors daily.
The region surrounding Chino Valley is supplied with a host of picturesque sites, including the Scenic Rim Tour in Flagstaff, the Grand Canyon, Historic Jerome, Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon and Montezuma’s Castle.
Other attractions and entertainment venues that can be found in proximity to Chino Valley are the Flagstaff Snowbowl for the skiers and snowboarders, theaters in Prescott and Prescott Valley, rodeos at the Prescott Fairgrounds and horse races at the Special Events Complex at Yavapai County Fairgrounds in Prescott Valley.
