Higher Education

Several institutions of higher education are located in, or near, Glendale. The city's own "college connection" includes four institutions of higher learning. Glendale is home to the nation's #1 international business school - Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management. Thunderbird is the nation's largest and oldest international management school devoted solely to international business education. The global nature of Thunderbird's students and alumni is among the school's most distinctive characteristics. Its students come from across the U.S. and the world, and its graduates are employed by more than 9,000 companies in every state and 130 countries. Thunderbird also has campuses in Tokyo, Japan and Archamps, France. graphic

Midwestern University opened in 1996. The school is an upper-division undergraduate and graduate degree-granting institution specializing in the health sciences with four colleges - the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, the Chicago College of Pharmacy, the College of Allied Health Professions and the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Glendale Community College (GCC) is a key institution in meeting the diverse educational needs of western Maricopa County. The college is the second-largest member of the Maricopa Community College District and the second-largest community college system in the nation. GCC’s corporate partnership program benefits employers and students alike through apprenticeships with companies such as Intel, Motorola, General Motors, Ford, Chrysler and area fire and police departments.
