Midwestern University opened in 1996. The school is an upper-division undergraduate and graduate degree-granting institution specializing in the health sciences with four colleges - the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, the Chicago College of Pharmacy, the College of Allied Health Professions and the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Glendale Community College (GCC) is a key institution in meeting the diverse educational needs of western Maricopa County. The college is the second-largest member of the Maricopa Community College District and the second-largest community college system in the nation. Its High Tech Complex sets a new industry standard, offering training in the latest computer and multimedia applications where students set their own pace and schedule. GCC's corporate partnership program benefits employers and students alike through apprenticeships with companies such as Intel, Motorola, General Motors, Ford, Chrysler and area fire and police departments.
