graphicExcellent city services, a pro-business environment, land and building availability, a skilled workforce and an excellent location within the greater Phoenix area are among the many reasons Mattel selected Glendale. McCord Consumer Direct, one of the nation's largest travel management companies, will employ close to 300 people and utilize 30,000 square feet of office space. McCord joins Mattel and Continental Promotions as one of three call centers to recently locate in Glendale.

graphicA center of the defense industry in Arizona, Glendale is also home to Luke Air Force Base, the largest jet fighter training base in the world, providing over 7,000 jobs. Arrowhead Towne Center, a super regional shopping mall, employs more than 2,000 people.

The city's eight commercial and industrial employment zones are conveniently grouped around major transportation centers. Innovative spec building and fast track new construction programs, enterprise zone tax incentives and a smooth permitting process are all tools available to new and expanding companies.

The crown jewel of downtown Glendale was unveiled with the 1999 opening of the $8.5 million Glendale Civic Center, the third largest facility of its kind in the metropolitan area and biggest in the West Valley. The new 31,000-square-foot facility gives visitors another reason to visit downtown. Conferences, trade shows and weddings are all coming to the Civic Center, which is nestled between the historic Catlin Court and the Old Towne areas of downtown.
