Glendale is served by three hospitals in the immediate area - two in Glendale and one on the southern border in Phoenix. Maryvale Hospital in Phoenix serves the residents in south Glendale, while Thunderbird Samaritan and Arrowhead hospitals serve the city's north central population. The medical community serving Glendale includes more than 4,000 health care professionals. Thunderbird Samaritan Medical Center has 304 beds and offers a full range of services including complete maternity care, outpatient services and 24-hour emergency care. Arrowhead Community Hospital, with 104 beds, also offers a full range of services and 24-hour emergency service. The facility includes a cardiac cath lab, women's health center, heart center, plastic surgery center and a cancer program.
