No, it isnt falling down. It was taken apart after spanning the Thames River in London for about 80 years, crated, shipped to Lake Havasu City in 1964 and reassembled. A waterway was excavated and London Bridge Village was developed with unique shops and eateries. The bridge is fully accessible by automobile and the waterway provides navigation beneath the bridge for water craft. Lake Havasu City is an easy one-hour drive from Mohave Valley, mostly along Arizona Hwy 95 and I-40.
Another one-hour drive will take you to the old 1860s silver mining town of Chloride, Arizona, famous for its giant murals painted on rock by noted Western artist Roy Purcell. Take Arizona Hwy 68 north to Hwy 93; turn right from Hwy 93 at Grasshopper Junction. Melodramas are performed every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
