Approximately half of the total work force is employed in tourism-related businesses. The casino-gambling industry in nearby Laughlin, NV, provides a large portion of the area’s approximately 35,000 jobs. According to the Arizona Department of Economic Security, the unemployment rate in Mohave Valley is only 5%, a figure which will doubtless attract even more residents. Arizona is a right-to-work state.

Neighbors Doing Business

Bullhead City, among Arizona’s fastest growing communities, and Laughlin, Nevada, with its 11 major casino/resort hotels, attract over six million visitors annually. Lake Havasu City was established in 1963 as one of the nation’s first "planned communities." It is home of the historic London Bridge and has developed a multi-million-dollar economy around boat manufacturing, tourism and recreation.
