North Phoenix may have the feel of an Old West town in 1880, but when it comes to shopping, the area has fully advanced to the new millennium. In fact, there are shopping centers to satisfy most everyone’s shopping list spread throughout the area.

Paradise Valley Mall is a gigantic center with more than 150 specialty stores and eateries. Laid out so it is easy to get around, the mall also houses five department stores and a cinema.

Deer Valley Towne Centre isn’t quite as big as Paradise Valley Mall, but it has stores to satisfy most needs such as Target, Ross and Office Max. The Deer Valley complex also houses an AMC 30-screen theater.

Under construction and scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2001, is The Marketplace at Desert Ridge. Located at the 101 Loop and Tatum Blvd., it provides easy access from all directions.

The Marketplace is a one-million square foot center offering strategically integrated shopping, dining, entertainment which provides a festive atmosphere in a pedestrian-oriented village town center.

Major malls are not the only venues for shoppers. North Phoenix is laden with strip malls that include specialty shops, businesses such as travel and insurance agencies and small restaurants

From motels for the budget conscious to world-class resorts, the North Phoenix area has plenty of options when it comes to lodging.

Because the area is so close to Sky Harbor Airport, most every national hotel chain is represented in North Phoenix. Normally positioned close to major thoroughfares, they offer easy access and boast a good night’s sleep.

Resorts such as Lookout Mountain are vacation destinations. Golf, tennis, swimming, racquetball and elaborate spas are found at the resorts to make any vacation or business trip special. Five-star restaurants add to the resorts’ appeal.

Most area resorts offer completely furnished conference facilities.
