One of the area’s most popular parks is Roadrunner Park. The park in the heart of North Phoenix has a swimming pool, basketball courts, a fishing lake, a playground, a BMX bicycle course and plenty of picnic tables.

Other major parks include the Dreamy Draw Recreation Area, the North Mountain Recreation Area and the Squaw Peak Recreation Area.

graphicMaybe the best way to enjoy the outdoors is a visit to the Cave Creek Recreation Area on the north end of North Phoenix. Covering nearly 3,000 acres, Cave Creek is a great place to hike, bike or ride a horse. Camping is allowed in the park.

Like the rest of the Valley, North Phoenix is a paradise to golfers. Executive to world-class courses can be found in the area.

A good way to keep up the Old West tradition in North Phoenix is to hop up on a horse. While development counts down the number of horse riding trails, you still don’t have to leave the area to go for a gallop. A popular riding spot is North Mountain Park.

graphicAn exhilarating route to take in the area’s scenery is a hot air balloon ride. Several licensed businesses offer sunrise and sunset rides throughout the year in North Phoenix, taking customers on an excursion they’ll remember for life.

One of the best ways to enjoy a magnificent sunset in North Phoenix is to not leave home at all and just fire up the barbecue.
