
Located in the Northwest Valley area, Peoria is connected to a transportation network that allows for easy access to travel and business destinations. State Freeway 101 links to all the area’s major transportation arteries including I-17 to Sedona and the Grand Canyon and I-10, which heads west to California and dips south to Tucson and El Paso, Texas. State Highway 60 provides access to Wickenburg and Las Vegas.
The metro areas of Glendale and Phoenix are both less than 10 miles away.
Two nearby airports serve Peoria. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is the local hub for domestic and international travel. Serving 40 million passengers to 89 U.S. cities and 17 cities in Canada, Mexico, and Europe, Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport is just 35 minutes from Peoria.
Glendale Municipal Airport (located six miles away in Glendale) accommodates smaller private and corporate aircraft. Extensive amenities are available through the airport, including aircraft parking, hangars, pilot’s lounge, restrooms, Internet access, and showers.
Alternative transportation outlets are also available. Dial-A-Ride was established in 1989 to provide basic transportation to Peoria residents.
The para-transit service offers (with reservations) door-to-door service and is wheelchair accessible. Two Park & Ride locations provide convenient fixed route bus services to destinations in Glendale and Phoenix.
