The explosive growth of Peoria has fueled thriving economic sectors that offer vast opportunities for expansion and development. New commercial and retail developments continue to attract new businesses, while a stable commerce base ensures longevity. The Peoria Chamber of Commerce fosters that stability on a daily basis.
On the south side of Peoria is Park West, a 355,000 square foot open-air shopping, dining and entertainment destination. Its ideal location is approximately one mile northwest of the new Arizona Cardinals football stadium and the Phoenix Coyote’s hockey stadium. The open-air center is anchored by a 16-screen Harkins Theatre, nine sit-down restaurants, more than 50 specialty retailers and two beautiful parks.
In the central portion of Peoria are new business-condo projects, huge retailing centers, and “Class A” offices. Nearby you’ll find the Arrowhead Entertainment District, which has the highest concentration of restaurants in the United States.
The original town site is being revitalized. New residential structures, improvements to building facades, more open space, and redevelopment of existing sites will further reflect the prosperity of the community and make downtown Peoria a prime commercial location. The new performing arts center, Theater Works, is bringing new crowds to “Old Towne” almost every night.
Peoria offers two industrial parks (80 acres) with all the significant utilities and convenient road access. Peoria also has immediate railroad and highway access and is reasonably close to air-freight service.
In addition to commercial and service industry employers, Luke Air Force Base is another leading employer in the west and northwest portion of the Metro-Phoenix/ Peoria region. Luke Air Force Base is the largest and only active-duty F-16 training base in the world with more than 200 F-16s assigned. The base population includes about 7,500 service personnel and 15,000 family members. About 80,000 retired military members live in greater Phoenix.
Since Peoria is over 175 square miles, and well over half of the city is comprised of undeveloped land, progress and prosperity is evident wherever you look. If there ever was a perfect city in which to locate a business - Peoria, Arizona is number one.
