Peoria will soon have a new, state-of-the-art, full-service, acute-care general hospital. Services at the new facility are expected to include a 20-room emergency department, a 20-room inpatient area, diagnostic imaging (digital x-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, nuclear medicine), surgical services, a complete laboratory with blood bank and an on-site pharmacy. Peoria Regional Medical Center is scheduled to be the nearest receiving facility for nearly 100,000 people and will bring critically needed healthcare services, as well as job growth and increased revenue, to the area. PRMC will maintain a focus on providing immediate and effective services for patients, coinciding with the “Door to Doc in 31 Minutes” model.
