
Several area hospitals provide the highest levels of care for Peoria residents. On the east side of Peoria, Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, is part of Arizona’s largest non-profit health care provider, with a 374-bed hospital. Sun Health operates the 323-bed Boswell Memorial Hospital and the 235-bed Del E. Webb Memorial Hospital serving western Maricopa County communities. Among Del E. Webb Hospital’s areas of acute-care specialization are extensive resources for cardiac care and radiological special procedures. In addition, a medically supervised cardiac-rehabilitation program provides physical, nutritional, educational and psychological support.
Del E. Webb Hospital also is a leading center for hip and knee replacement, as well as other orthopedic and follow-up rehabilitation programs. The hospital’s services in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of strokes are among the most sophisticated available. The hospital also is the site of the Sun Health Pain Management Program and the Sun Health Center for Adult Behavioral Health, offering the west Valley’s only nursing unit for medical-psychiatric care.
Arrowhead Community Hospital is a member of the Abrazo Health Care System. It is a 220-bed hospital with 440 full-time employees and 700 medical staff. Annually, Arrowhead does 2,200 deliveries, 35,000 E.R. visits and 8,500 surgeries. The hospital delivers high quality, state-of-the-art, general acute care services that earn the trust and confidence of Peoria and West Valley residents.
