Arts & Entertainment

Whatever the time of year, there is always something to see or do in Sierra Vista.

The calendar is full of activities and events, from the Sierra Vista Senior Games in January to Arizona’s longest running Holiday Parade in December, which is sponsored by the Greater Sierra Vista Area Chamber of Commerce and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2008.

Sierra Vista may be a relatively small city, but it boasts an impressive list of arts and entertainment groups, including the Sierra Vista Symphony Orchestra, Cochise Children’s Choir, Sierra Vista Ballet and the Desert Swing band.

The Buena Performing Arts Center, located at Buena High School, is a state-of-the-art, 1,350-seat theatre, which has played host to numerous concerts and performances. These include the annual Moscow Ballet’s Christmas performance, the Miss Sierra Vista scholarship program and the Sierra Vista Community Chorus’ seasonal concerts.

Throughout the year the Art Discovery Series presents plays, concerts and musicals, and in the summer there are regular band performances at Veterans’ Memorial Park.

The annual July 4th celebration is among the most spectacular in the state and is organized every year by the Sierra Vista Rotary Club, while the Huachuca Art Association is responsible for the hugely successful Art in the Park event.

From rodeos to the St. Patrick’s Day parade and from Cinco de Mayo to Oktoberfest, there is no excuse for believing there is nothing to do in Sierra Vista.
