

Of Sierra Vista’s population aged 25 years and older, 91.5 percent had at least a high school diploma or equivalent, as of census 2000. This compares to 79.5 percent countywide, 81 percent statewide and 80.4 percent nationally.
An estimated 25.7 percent of Sierra Vista residents held a bachelor’s degree or higher in 2000, compared to 18.8 percent for the county, 23.5 percent statewide and 24.4 percent nationwide.

Sierra Vista Unified School District consists of one high school, with an enrollment of 2,785; two middle schools; and six elementary schools. Fort Huachuca Accommodation Schools has one middle school and two elementary schools, with an enrollment of 1,046. In addition, Sierra Vista also has five charter schools, with a total enrollment of 942 students, as of October 2006.
Post-secondary educational opportunities are provided by Cochise College, University of Arizona South, University of Phoenix, Wayland Baptist University and Western International University.
