Top-rate medical care is easily found in the White Mountain area that, in addition to its two regional medical centers, is teeming with a multitude of clinics and private practices.
Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center
Since 1970, the healthcare facility has served the medical needs of more than 60,000 residents within a 3,000 square mile area. More than 70 physicians comprise the active medical staff, representing a number of specialties. An array of services and programs are available here, including a 24-hour Emergency Department that serves nearly 22,000 patients annually (2006).
The newest addition to the hospital is the $30 million, 104,000 square foot expansion project that commenced in 2006. The plans called for the construction of a five-story patient bed tower equipped with 81 private patient rooms, including a 12-bed ICU on the first floor, a 42-bed Medical/Surgical unit on the first and second floors and an Obstetrical and Women’s Health unit on the third and fourth floors. Additionally, the main hospital has renovated and expanded its kitchen and dining area in order to better serve its staff, patients and visitors.
On the top of the main hospital campus, Summit Healthcare also operates a new Outpatient Imaging Center in Show Low and in Snowflake, and The Community Clinic in Overgaard.
