
The new Saline County Airport, located just south of Bryant, opened in early 2007. With a 5,000 foot runway, it can handle planes from private up through large corporate.
The new terminal, while set up to handle all the traffic, also includes space for small group meetings. Plans are already underway to increase the runway to 6,000 feet.
Not far from Benton, travelers have access to Little Rock National Airport. With about two million passengers per year, Little Rock National is the state’s largest commercial airport featuring both domestic and international flights. With its central location to the state capital, Benton is able to offer residents and visitors small town ambiance with access to an urban metro.
By land and water the many industries located in Benton and surrounding communities possess freight transportation avenues at their disposal.
The Burlington Northern, Union Pacific and Southern Pacific/Cotton Belt lines provide a route by rail, and about 60 motor freight carriers supply further hauling. The Arkansas River, only about 20 miles away, offers an aquatic route for cargo shipment.
