El Dorado Location and Transportation

map

El Dorado’s location in South Central Arkansas puts it right in the middle of America’s sunbelt. Commute time to and from work in El Dorado and Union County is hard to beat.

The average travel time of residents is barely 13 minutes. The accessibility of different types of travel and transport are equally impressive.

The South Arkansas Regional Airport is an FAA-approved facility with daily service to Dallas-Fort Worth. The airport is a full-service, fixed-based operation with charter service and private hangars. The 6,600-foot runway will accommodate corporate and medium-sized jets.

The El Dorado Downtown Airport has hangars and accommodations for small, private aircrafts and a 3,000-foot runway in close proximity to the downtown area.

Interstate 20, which cuts across the top of Louisiana, is only 36 miles from Union County. Three U. S. highways (82, 63 and 167) intersect at El Dorado. Seventeen interstate motor carriers service Union County from nine local terminals.
