There is a wealth of recreational opportunities available to citizens of El Dorado.

The Felsenthal National Wildlife Refuge (east of El Dorado) is the world’s largest green tree reservoir, offering 65,000 acres for fishing and hunting.

Union County is consistently Arkansas’ leading county in the number of deer harvested during the annual archery, black-powder and gun season.

Big bass, catfish and crappie fishermen consider Union County to be a paradise, with the Ouachita River, Felsenthal and several small lakes open to the public year-round.
