El Dorado & Union County
are moving FORWARD
This past year voters in El Dorado overwhelmingly supported a new economic development initiative deemed “El Dorado Forward” that will dedicate more than 32 million dollars over the next eight years to move the city forward.

The report was written by TIP Strategies of Austin, Texas and focuses on growth in three specific areas: Talent, Industry and Place. One of the primary objectives of this plan is to make El Dorado a regional destination in south Arkansas for entertainment, culture, recreation, living, business, education, healthcare, and shopping.
The new plan also calls for partnerships with South Arkansas Community College and the city of El Dorado in the construction of a new community center and student union building for the college. This new facility will allow the area to host regional events and activities not currently available due to the lack of adequate facilities.
