El Dorado, Arkansas is a unique community where preserved history and scenic landscapes meet progress and prosperity.

The city of approximately 20,000 is nestled within the heart of southern Arkansas’ Timberlands region, an area rich in natural resources and featuring some of the state’s finest outdoor recreation sites. Opportunities for world-class hunting and fishing draw people to the area from all over the U.S. The community is also a fine place to discover culture, shopping, dining and plenty of history.

El Dorado stands as the county seat of Union County, the largest county in Arkansas, and is proud of its recognition as “Arkansas’ Original Boomtown”—a moniker bestowed upon the city following oil discoveries in the 1920s. The community’s history is still experienced throughout town, with several buildings currently listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The new addition of the multi-purpose El Dorado Conference Center marks one of the largest municipal undertakings in city history.
