Fort Smith Chamber Introduction

The Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce has been instrumental in promoting businesses and economic development in the region since the Old West trading post days of 1887. Since then, it has brought millions of jobs and dollars into Fort Smith and the surrounding communities strengthening the economic prosperity of the Greater Fort Smith Region.

The mission of the Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce is to serve as a catalyst for the continual improvement of the quality of life and the economic well-being of the citizens of the area. By being a leading force in providing direction for a strong business climate and enhancing the quality of life in the community, the Chamber makes a difference every day across the region.

The Chamber is a professional, non-profit organization for the business community. It unites thousands of businesses creating a unique agency working to protect and expand the businesses, industries and professions in the Greater Fort Smith Region while also improving the qualify of life of its residents. Its main objectives include encouraging commercial, industrial and civic development for the entire Greater Fort Smith Region.

The Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce consists of more than 1,400 members representing a wide variety of business types, sizes and professions from communities across the Greater Fort Smith Region. The Chamber and its members work together to accomplish collectively what no business professional can achieve individually. The strength of this Chamber lies in its members who work endlessly to improve their communities from business development to education to civic issues.

The Chamber holds regular task force meetings of community members, business professionals and other leaders to discuss issues from health care to industry concerns that need to be addressed. Chamber involvement is an excellent vehicle for change in the community by its members.

The Chamber also brings businesses together by hosting various networking events. The bi-monthly Business 2 Business Connection allows members to meet in a structured luncheon environment to network, while the First Friday Breakfast is a great alternative for early birds wanting to meet and greet over coffee and a hearty meal. Annual events, like the Jack White Legislative Golf Classic, partner Chamber members with state government leaders and elected officials for a day of fun in the sun. In addition to making business contacts, Chamber members make lasting friendships.

The Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce is people. People like you, your family, your friends and your neighbors—all working together to accomplish those goals no individual or business can do alone. The Chamber is a working organization—the only one of its kind in the city—consisting of volunteers who offer their professional talents to help achieve success throughout the Greater Fort Smith Region.
