From birth through long life, the medical community of the Fort Smith Region offers health care at its finest. Two major medical centers are located in Fort Smith, and a third acute care hospital is located across the river in Van Buren.
Together, those facilities provide more than 1,000 in-patient beds and state-of-the-art diagnostic technology. More than 400,000 residents in a two-state area have access to specialized heart care, cancer treatment and ambulatory surgery centers, in addition to rehabilitation, psychiatric and long-term care facilities.
The area’s diverse physician base is comprised of a large physician-owned, multi-specialty group, a hospital-based physician association and numerous independent physicians and dentists.
Fort Smith cares for children with special needs at a new neonatal ICU, the Gregory Kistler Treatment Center and Bost, Inc. The Donald W. Reynolds Cancer Support House offers education, encouragement and hope to those undergoing cancer treatment. Sparks Regional Medical Center and St. Edward Mercy Medical Center strive for disease prevention and health maintenance by offering full-service fitness programs at each facility.
From leading-edge diagnostics to advanced treatment and prevention, the Greater Fort Smith Region’s residents benefit from exemplary health care every day.
