If you are looking for a little culture or just some old-fashioned family entertainment, Russellville has it all. Many organizations host a number of events and festivals throughout the year to provide residents something to do without the long drive. Activities include something for everyone, from dances to fishing tournaments to concerts.
Russellville also promotes hometown spirit and involvement with its annual festivals. These events give residents a chance to mingle with their neighbors, while having a great time in their own community.
The Arkansas River Valley Arts Center sponsors art exhibits, concerts, plays and other cultural activities. The Arts Center has a gallery with new exhibits monthly. Admittance is free to the public. Annual shows include the Collegiate Competition, open to any college student in the state, a statewide High School Competition, and a local artist exhibit. Other exhibits are from area, state and nationally renowned artists. The Arts Center produces a summer musical and Christmas Story featuring local talent. Another summer program offered by the Arts Center is the Summer Arts Camp. Through this program, children enjoy a day-camp setting, immersed in a variety of art forms led by artists.
Russellville’s Downtown Fall Festival is a fun-filled street festival held each year on the last Saturday in October. This daylong celebration harkens back to the “good ole days” when carnivals set up on the streets of Downtown Russellville. Taste of the Valley is Main Street Russellville’s award-winning tasting party featuring a delicious assortment of food and drink provided by River Valley restaurants, caterers, delicatessens, vineyards and food service institutions.
