Education

Education

There is no doubt that Van Buren is a community that has invested greatly in education. This supportive characteristic is felt at all levels of learning in Van Buren, from the early childhood stage to secondary education and graduate studies.

Van Buren School District (VBSD)

VBSD, a progressive school district, serves the community by providing a learning environment that enables students to attain their full potential, promoting lifelong learning. Eight schools compromise the district, including six elementary schools, two middle schools, a freshman academy and the Van Buren High School. The district is large enough to supply ample learning resources, but small enough to provide valuable individualized attention.

Supplementing traditional curriculum are programs that are designed for gifted and talented students, workforce education opportunities, a special education program, an alternative education program and a long list of extracurricular activities. These programs were created to give students endless opportunities to be successful inside and outside the classroom.
