Incorporated in 1970 and home to approximately 19,000 residents, Adelanto has a relatively small local government to oversee day-to-day operations and city planning.
The Adelanto City Council, Planning Commission, staff members and local organizations have worked to keep the community safe and ready for the future. Business initiatives have assisted the building of hundreds of enterprises over the years (leading to a strong employment market), while intelligent planning has kept the city’s public services and utilities (such as roads, law enforcement and sewers) ahead of the curve.
With four million dollars devoted to improvements over the next several years, these priorities continue to be demonstrated. Traffic signals, road repairs and expansions, additional streets and the paving of unpaved roads are among the many scheduled projects.
The city’s police and fire prevention services are provided on a contract basis by San Bernardino County.
