SHOPPING
With nearly 300 stores in the Westfield Santa Anita Mall, anchored by Nordstrom’s, Macy’s and JCPenney’s, and with hundreds of more upscale retailers coming in 2011 and 2012 with Westfield’s Promenade outdoor expansion, and the projected Shops at Santa Anita outdoor retail development at the racetrack, there is no shortage of options for shoppers in Arcadia.
Baldwin Plaza at 1108 South Baldwin Avenue and President Square at 1220 South Golden West Avenue are just two of the city’s growing number of retail centers offering shopping, groceries, restaurants and other services geared towards Chinese interests and tastes led by 99 Ranch Market, Arcadia Supermarket and Din Tai Fung Dumpling House.
Meanwhile, Arcadia’s primary traditional business districts, from each direction centered at the intersection of First Avenue and Huntington Drive, and along Baldwin Avenue south of Huntington, continue to offer an eclectic mix of shopping, dining, specialty food and personal and business services, as well as entertainment such as Arcadia Blues Club and First Cabin on Huntington Drive just east of Santa Anita.
South Arcadia caters to residents in that part of town including Albertsons, Walgreens, Ralphs Markets, florists, gas stations, carwash, Carmine’s Italian Rest and several real estate offices and medical suppliers or drug stores.
DINING
From fast food to fine dining, Arcadia provides a diverse array of cuisine to suit every taste and time schedule. Locally owned favorites of every taste complement national and regional chains from In-N-Out Burger to California Pizza Kitchen, McDonald’s and Col Sanders Fried Chicken. Among them are the world-renowned Din Tai Fung Dumpling House, the legendary and iconic racetrack eatery The Derby, the historic Taco Lita and such popular dining destinations as BJ’s, Matt Denny’s and Peppers Mexican Restaurant & Cantina. On Live Oak Ave, Cabrera’s Mexican Restaurant just celebrated their 26th Anniversary.
LODGING/ACCOMMODATIONS

Visitors to Arcadia will find no shortage of hotel rooms to suit all needs, business or personal. As host to the 2008 and 2009 Breeders Cup and many other major horse racing events at the prestigious Santa Anita Park, and neighbor to Pasadena, host for the Rose Parade/Rose Bowl, Arcadia is equipped to provide a variety of amenities at all price ranges for long-term or short-term stays.
Among the nationally recognized chains are Embassy Suites, Hilton Garden, Hampton Inn, Residence Inn by Marriott and Springhill Suites by Marriott. They are joined by the area’s two newest hotels a few hundred yards outside of Arcadia in Monrovia, DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton and Courtyard by Marriot.
Each lodging accommodation offers quick and easy access to several Interstate freeways (210, 605 and 10) and multiple transportation options to any of three major airports within 35 miles—LAX, Bob Hope/Burbank and LA/Ontario. Arcadia hotels also offer the ideal location to reach Disneyland, Universal Studios Hollywood, the beaches and the mountains for skiing, hiking and picnicking, all within drives of 30 minutes to one hour. i
