The Brawley Chamber of Commerce is a 380-member organization focused on improving the business climate within the city. The Chamber is involved in a number of events and activities to enhance Brawley’s economy and quality of life.

Members include businesses, agricultural and industrial interests, as well as professionals.

A 20-member Board of Directors, elected by the general membership, governs the Chamber. The Board meets on a monthly basis and the public is always welcome to attend the meetings.

Chamber-sponsored activities include the annual Cattle Call events, with the exception of the three Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association performances that are coordinated by an independent non-profit organization. graphic

Additional Chamber activities include the Fourth of July "Freedom Fest" held at the Imperial Valley College Campus; "Fun in The Sun" and "The Fine Arts Festival" held in the Brawley Plaza Park.

Business expansion is crucial to the success of the Chamber. Some of the work in that area includes:

  • Retention and revitalization committees that are focused on various projects throughout the year, including the formation of the "Main Street Program" through the California Trade and Commerce Agency.
  • A new E-Member program, combined with the Chamber’s new web site, provides businesses the opportunity for a web presence, without the initial expenses associated with web sites.
  • The Merchants Advisory Committee focuses on issues affecting the business climate in Brawley.
  • The promotion of member businesses by various means such as the production of this Business Directory.
  • Coordination and promotion of monthly Chamber Mixers giving members an opportunity to network with professionals throughout the community.
  • Red Carpet Mixers are held to promote new businesses in Brawley.

The Chamber also serves as the community’s "Front Door." It is an information center for out of town visitors, as well as local residents. It promotes local businesses, providing information on services available, location and contact numbers. It also assists in the arrangement of educational and familiarization tours of the county for special out of town visitors and club organizations.

The Chamber also represents Brawley at all levels of government involving itself in the city, state and national issues as an advocate for businesses and the community.

The Brawley Chamber of Commerce is also a member of the Joint Chambers of Commerce, a countywide organization focusing on regional business issues. It is comprised of representatives from each Chamber of Commerce.

The Joint Chambers sponsors an annual countywide Business Showcase each January, promoting a variety of local businesses and services available throughout the Imperial County. The Joint Chambers is also producing a new brochure to promote tourism in Imperial County.
