The Chamber has many avenues for you to promote your business through a variety of marketing opportunities.
The Chamber maintains a high visibility storefront where visitors and new residents come to get information about where to go and what to do. There is no cost to members to display flyers, brochures, menus, etc., encouraging these people to come to their business.
Business Referral System
In conjunction with the Visitor Center, the Chamber receives numerous telephone inquiries, letters, emails and personal contact requests daily for goods and services. The Chamber only refers member businesses.
Small Business Information Center
Located in the lobby of the Chamber offices, information is available for start-up and relocating businesses to find the reference materials that they need. Businesses are counseled on start-up requirements, available commercial space and Chamber members who can provide appropriate services.
One of the fastest growing business portals is the World Wide Web. The Chamber maintains an extensive website for visitors and residents to locate goods and services. Our website receives over 4,000 page views a month, most looking for member services. As a member, your business is listed by business category with a link to your website. Opportunities to maximize your visibility include banner and navigation bar links.
Each year the chamber publishes a Visitor Guide with Community Profile and Business Directory. The guide is promoted in our Visitor Center and placed in hotels, and various other sites around the city as well as given to new residents. As its name implies, this publication includes opportunities to market your business in addition to the telephone directory style listings that each member business receives as part of the partnership investment fees. An electronic version of the visitor guide is also on the Chamber’s website.
The official map for the city of Cathedral City is produced by the Chamber and distributed to new residents as well as at City Hall and a host of other locations throughout Cathedral City. The map features a Valley overview with main travel arteries and a detailed map of Cathedral City with an index to find the street you need. For the convenience of our future visitors, an electronic version of the map is also on the Chamber’s website.
Beautifying the lampposts as well as the downtown corridor, these 24” x 52” banners are like having a billboard along East Palm Canyon Drive. Three and six month programs are available.
The Chamber hosts and coordinates several events throughout the year including Oktoberfest, Orion Community Services Awards, Golden Apple Educator Awards and more. Your business can be involved in these events that not only bring goodwill, but can bring customers to your business as well.
Chamber Chat – Monthly Newsletter
Each month the Chamber sends approximately 700 copies of its newsletter to members and community leaders around the Valley. Included in the newsletter is a member news section that features what’s happening with our members, new members as well as a calendar of upcoming important dates and photos of the events that took place. In addition, a mid-month e-newsletter updates everyone with the latest info to take advantage of Chamber opportunities. Space for your advertising message starts for as little as $45 per issue.
Ribbon Cutting/ Grand Opening
Each new business member is entitled to a ribbon cutting ceremony. The board, City Officials and general membership are invited to participate and see your business. Photos of the ceremony are printed in the newsletter for all to enjoy. What a great way to introduce your business to Cathedral City.
Flyers and Mailing Lists
Chamber partners can participate in newsletter mailings by supplying the Chamber with 700 copies of your flyer on standard 8 1Ú2 x 11, 20 lb paper and $125 to offset the cost of mailing. Or if you would like to mail them yourself, the Chamber can provide an electronic list of addresses for $125. The fee for non-members is $175.
Power Breakfast and Networking Mixers
One of the best ways to promote your business is through personal contact. The Chamber provides you two monthly opportunities to meet other members and tell them about your services.
Held on the first Wednesday of every month, the breakfast features a speaker on a major issue impacting business in Cathedral City. Attendees who include City Officials also have the opportunity to stand up and introduce themselves to the whole group. Want to do a five-minute “show and tell”? Sponsor a breakfast for $125.
Hosted by various member businesses on the third Thursday of the month. Five dollars gets you hors d'oeurves and a casual atmosphere to mingle and become acquainted with other business people, exchange ideas and gather referrals. You also get the chance to win great raffle prizes.
