Cloverdale Chamber of Commerce

Mayor's Letter

Welcome to the city of Cloverdale, a dynamic community of 8,200 residents that is rapidly emerging as the new hub of northern Sonoma and southern Mendocino counties. Cloverdale enjoys an exceptionally high quality of life, and is well situated as a business location, with a thriving downtown and positioned astride U.S. 101 with easy access to major markets. As you read further through this community profile and our business directory, you will observe that our city has an ever-growing number of diverse businesses, as well as ample opportunities and locations, be they industrial or commercial, for new ventures. Cloverdale residents strongly support all aspects of community life and our institutions, and are exceptionally supportive of local businesses.

The City has completed the Cloverdale Boulevard Beautification Project that has proven a real boost to downtown merchants by creating an attractive, family-oriented walkable downtown, with many small shops, services, great restaurants and a wonderfully restored movie theater showing first run movies nightly. The downtown is alive with events such as the Cloverdale Citrus Fair, the Old Time Fiddle Contest, live performances at “Friday Night Live,” the “Black Bart Festival” and the annual Scarecrow Contest. Cloverdale has an extensive arts program, including an annual juried sculpture exhibit, monthly film program, poetry and arts exhibits, and a soon-to-be-opened arts center.

The Cloverdale Russian River Park is the centerpiece of a growing trails system, infrastructure improvements are underway to accommodate new industrial development, and new and remodeled lodging facilities are available for tourists and the business traveler. These are the result of an active and ongoing economic and community development program creating a well-rounded and balanced city, guided by a strong City Council and Planning Commission and an active and supportive Chamber of Commerce.

Cloverdale is truly a unique city, a friendly and wonderful place to live and raise a family in a beautiful natural setting; however, also offering a competitive and convenient location to own and grow a business. I encourage you to support our local Cloverdale businesses, as they are integral to the health and vitality of our community. If you are looking to start a business or expand an existing one, I ask that you give Cloverdale serious consideration and take a long look at what we have to offer you, your family and your business. My hunch is that you will find what we have to offer hard to beat. I hope to see you in downtown Cloverdale very soon.
