Retail, manufacturing and research provide the foundation for Clovis’ business base. Vibrant and growing, examples of successful businesses are easy to locate. Anlin Industries is a window replacement manufacturing company that started its operations in Clovis over 50 years ago with 92 employees. Today, the company employs over 300. Anlin is known for its superior warranty program along with the common knowledge that its windows and doors are easy to operate and maintain while being energy efficient.
Another prime example of success is Pelco, the world’s largest manufacturer of security cameras. Pelco began its Clovis operations in 1988 with a modest 100 employees; today, the company employs over 2,000 workers who take pride in their work and are good citizens of the community. This privately owned company has offices around the world and will be opening a research and development site in Colorado. Every Christmas, Pelco employees compete with each other to collect the greatest number of contributions to the “Toys for Tots” drive. Their efforts have created the largest donation by any organization in the country.
Looking toward the future, Clovis is on its way to becoming a high-tech town. The Clovis Research and Technology Park is attracting new business. A private business incubator, CargoBay, that provides office space for small businesses, is expanding into two new complexes and adding Office Bay. Another 125,000 square feet is filled by businesses providing services. Cisco Systems will be joining the area as well as major retail.

Clovis is taking its interest in high tech one step further by creating the Technopolis Clovis Core Committee (TC3). Made up of 22 community members, its goal is to create a city atmosphere that will attract and nurture industries such as biotechnology, healthcare, environment and water technology and hard and soft sciences.
The committee achieved a milestone when it made a presentation at a high-tech conference in Barcelona, Spain in 2007.
Clovis will become the regional corporate headquarters for the Canadian company Agrium, a supplier of agricultural products and services in North and South America. It will employ 150 people.
Clovis is a great place to conduct business. Quality schools, a stable workforce, industrial parks, a wonderful climate, stable cost of living index and a knowledgeable workforce make Clovis an attractive home to business owners.
Clovis is also appealing to employees. With an extremely low unemployment rate — an average of 4.3 percent while the rest of the Central Valley hovers around 11 percent — an easy commute, public transportation and accessibility to the larger Fresno metropolitan area, there are additional reasons for individuals to live and work in Clovis.
