As cars pass over Temperance Avenue on Highway 168, motorists can’t help noticing the bustling construction going on at Clovis Community Medical Center. Just a little over 20 years ago, the hospital first opened its doors where it was considered “out in the country” and quickly built a reputation as a people’s choice hospital with top rankings in care.
The multi-phased expansion plans began in October 2008 with the construction of a two-story, 22,500-square-foot, $20 million, outpatient care facility add-on. The first floor of this initial phase includes an expanded, one-of-a-kind Marjorie E. Radin Breast Care Center and a dedicated four-room endoscopy center with associated reception area, exam rooms, pre-operative, post-operative and recovery rooms.

The second floor includes the addition of four new operating rooms (for a total of 10 in this outpatient facility) and associated pre-operative and post- operative recovery areas as well as the only Level III in vitro fertilization center between San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Open to the public in Fall 2009, the first phase of the master-planned expansion addresses the growing demand for customer-friendly, convenient and efficient outpatient services.
Clovis Community’s service area is projected to see a population increase of 15,000 within the next five years and a 43 percent increase in overall growth in the next two decades. The Clovis Community campus is located in one of the fastest-growing and well-planned areas of Central California.
Kaiser Permanente has offices in Clovis offering medical care for adults and children. Other services include health education, laboratory services, obstetrics/gynecology, pharmacy, physical medicine, radiology, and a personal physician selection service.

Saint Agnes Medical Center opened at its current location on Herndon Avenue in the 1970s. In 1998, it began its largest expansion that doubled the size of the hospital and added 100 new rooms.
Patients from around the country come to Fresno County in search of the quality pediatric care available at the Children’s Hospital Central California.
