
The city of Clovis operates under a Council-Manager form of government. Council members serve four-year terms with elections held every two years to fill open positions.
The five-member council serves as the city’s main legislative body and is responsible for electing the mayor and the mayor pro tem from among its ranks. The City Council works closely with the City Manager (responsible for administering city operations) to provide policy guidance.
