The secret is out. One of the best places to live in the Central Valley is Clovis, California.
New residents, new homes, schools and businesses all point to a thriving community.
Clovis is growing — its population is approaching 100,000. Every day the Chamber receives calls from people interested in our not-so-little town.
Recently, the Clovis Community Development Agency surveyed new residents to find out what attracted them to Clovis.
The number one reason was our award-winning school district. Clovis Unified schools are known nationwide for their emphasis on academics, athletics and music. Every year, its elementary, intermediate and high schools receive distinguished school awards.
Good schools attract good community stewards who show their support both financially and personally. Clovis is one of the few districts in the country to pass five successive school bonds for new construction. Our fifth high school complex, which includes an elementary and intermediate school, has just been completed. Our sixth one is being planned.
The low cost of housing was the second most popular attraction to Clovis. With advanced planning, the city is building urban developments that will have their own pathways, parks and community centers. Loma Vista and Harlan Ranch are almost completed.
The third most appealing reason to move to Clovis is family and the Clovis Way of Life. The city takes great pride in providing a safe and nourishing family environment. In addition to great schools, we have a top-notch police department, parks and many churches. The Clovis Recreation Center provides hours of recreational fun for the kids and the Senior Center occupies those who are kids at heart.
The Clovis Chamber of Commerce welcomes the new residents and those just coming for a visit.
We hope you enjoy this directory and can learn about our Big Time City with Small Town Values.
