For over 100 years, Covina-Valley Unified School District has coupled high-quality education with a safe family atmosphere to become one of the top-performing districts in the San Gabriel Valley.
With instruction deeply rooted in the California Content Standards, among the highest standards in the nation, our families have confidence that education in Covina Valley Schools will enable their children to be well-prepared for life in the 21st century; not only to become intelligent, productive citizens, but to be able to face the challenges of advancing to higher education.
Covina-Valley Unified School District provides high-quality instruction to 15,000-plus students at our twelve K-5 elementary schools, three 6-8 middle schools, three comprehensive high schools, one alternative education high school and one children’s center pre-school. Tri-Community, our adult education center, serves more than 22,000 adult learners in our community. Additionally, for the last 50 years, Covina-Valley has hosted the regional education program for 230 deaf and hard-of-hearing children from birth through grade twelve.
As part of our mission to educate and prepare the whole child, we have recognized the community’s need for safe, quality educational extended day care programs. In response to this need, all elementary and middle school campuses house district-sponsored child care programs, providing enrichment and instruction in a supportive and nurturing environment. The convenience and quality of our Kids’ Korner and Teen Scene Programs have made Covina-Valley Schools the school of choice for over 80 families from out of district.
Modernized campuses, cutting edge technology in classrooms and Library Media Centers, along with top-performing, award-winning schools are just a few more reasons to make Covina-Valley USD your new home.
Covina’s schools have a long history of providing the community’s children with a high-quality education. Covina families know their children will get a solid foundation at Covina’s public schools, as well as the city’s many private or parochial institutions.
Families have ample access to preschool programs in Covina, including one at a well-respected Montessori School. This school also has a kindergarten program and provides daycare for children ages two to six.
Students can continue their education at one of several post-secondary schools in the area, including Azusa Pacific College, Citrus College, Cal Poly University and Mt. San Antonio Junior College.
