Transportation

Nearly all of California is within a one-day driving distance from Davis. Located in Yolo County, in the Central Valley of northern California, Davis is situated 11 miles west of Sacramento, 385 miles north of Los Angeles and 72 miles northeast of San Francisco. Davis is just 15 minutes from the state capital, museums and other metropolitan attractions. To the east of the city lie the Sacramento and American rivers along with historic gold country, Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountain range. The San Francisco Bay area, the redwood forests and the Pacific Ocean are to the west. The Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta region lies to the south.

Routes to and from Davis include Interstate 80 running east and west and Interstate 5 running north and south. Highways 113 and 128 also provide direct access to the city.
