Located in the foothills of the Little San Bernardino Mountains overlooking Palm Springs, Desert Hot Springs is designated as a Wildlife Sanctuary and is known worldwide for its natural hot mineral water and underground aquifers of pure cold water.
In February 2004, the municipal drinking water was awarded the Gold Medal at the Berkeley Springs W. Va. Int’l. Water Tasting Contest.
The therapeutic natural hot mineral water has been deemed especially beneficial in the treatment of rheumatism and arthritis, and thousands of people spend their winters in the Desert Hot Springs community every year to take advantage of the natural therapy. The City has over 40 hotels/spas - with approximately 1,000 rooms - to accommodate its guests.
