Parks and Recreation
The City of Duarte is home to 11 parks located within its boundaries and several facilities dedicated to recreational use, including a complete fitness center and two swimming pools. A year-round program of recreational activities for people of all ages is provided by the city Parks and Recreational staff in the parks, the Senior Center and the Teen Center.
The Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for youth sports, adult sports, special events, recreation classes, senior, youth and adult excursions, cultural event senior services and programs, the fitness center, teen services programs, Club Kids Day Care, beautification awards, aquatics and supervised parks. The Parks and Recreation Department is also responsible for maintenance of all city facilities. This includes repairs to buildings and park sites, custodial services, supervision of activities held in city facilities and overseeing contractual maintenance agreements.
