Grossmont College

From its nationally renown cardiovascular technology program to its division-winning baseball team, Grossmont College’s tradition of excellence has played a vital role in the social and economic development of the East County since 1961.

graphicThe larger of the two colleges in the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District, Grossmont enrolls 16,000 students, a figure that’s expected to climb to 20,000 by 2015. Located at 8800 Grossmont College Drive in El Cajon, the attractive campus is easily accessible from Navajo Road or Lake Murray Boulevard.

Grossmont College draws its population mostly from the East County, but its well-known health, arts and technology programs are among those that also attract students from throughout the county and beyond.

With a mission of making higher education accessible to all, the college offers more than 80 degree and certificate programs for everyone, from those beginning a university degree or upgrading job skills, to those who haven’t worked for years and are exploring new career opportunities.

Cuyamaca College

graphicCuyamaca College’s commitment to "Learning for the Future" reflects its philosophy of a top-quality innovative, learning environment that prepares students well for a constantly changing world. Located in Rancho San Diego, the peaceful Cuyamaca campus is part of the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District. A 2001 enrollment of 7,500 students is expected to reach 15,000 by 2015.

The College has more than 80 degree and certificate programs and an outstanding track record in preparing students for fields ranging from computer science and a CISCO Academy to turf management and automotive programs. Students who start their university degree at Cuyamaca College have a solid history of success when they transfer.

A new One-Stop Student Services Center provides centralized, convenient services at the college’s main entrance. In addition to its academic programs, the Cuyamaca campus is also the site of the Heritage of the Americas Museum and the soul-satisfying, educational Water Conservation Garden.
