Development Council

Four cities and several contiguous communities together with six East County Chambers of Commerce have formed the East County Economic Development Council (ECEDC). Its purpose is to expand the primary employment base in the region.

The East County EDC is recognized throughout San Diego County for its bank of accurate data, its focus on job development and the expansion of industrially zoned land. Its office is headquartered in the La Mesa Village Plaza, 4700 Spring Street, Suite 308. Their phone number is (619) 462-3312.

Financial Institutions

As the region has grown, East County has become a financial powerhouse with dozens of financial institutions ranging from major banks and credit unions to stock brokerages. They offer various features and services to their customers including checking accounts, savings, loans, investments, trust services, international banking and more. Within the East County financial world are investors, portfolio managers and other types of professional investors. In the East County area, innovation and competition in the banking and financial sector is vigorous.
