El Monte Community Introduction
Nestled in one of the fastest growing areas of the San Gabriel Valley, El Monte and South El Monte have transformed into two of the most flourishing communities in Southern California.

Longo Toyota stands out among the area’s diverse businesses. The dealership is the world’s largest new car dealer and also the largest Toyota Certified used vehicle dealer. Established in El Monte in 1967, Longo just celebrated its 40-year anniversary in the community as the country’s #1 Toyota dealership. With humble beginnings (comprised of only 5 employees in a small store) including a modest setting, Longo has continued to expand each year. In 1969, the dealership set a record as the premier Toyota dealership in the U.S., selling more than 100 new cars in one year, and in 1982 Longo hailed as the first to sell more than 10,000 cars in one year.
The dealership continued to set records in June of 2001 by selling 2,017 new cars in one month, which was shortly broken in 2002 with the sale of 2,510 vehicles in June, and then surpassed once again in July of 2005 with the sale of 2,521 new vehicles.
In 2004, Longo Toyota accomplished a major industry milestone by selling more than 20,000 new vehicles in one year, then sold a record-setting 25,000 new vehicles in 2006, and another 3,866 used vehicles. What’s more, Longo Toyota was recognized as one of only six dealers in the nation, and the only dealer in the state, to receive the esteemed Toyota President’s Award every year for the last 21 years.
The Longo family has grown to include Longo Lexus (established in 1989, now recognized as the number one Lexus dealer in the Western United States) and Longo Scion (established in June of 2003 as the nation’s largest Scion dealer). Included in their facility is a Starbucks and Pizza Hut plus many other convenient services. An integral part of the El Monte community, Longo participates in local events, programs and organizations, promoting the advancement of educational offerings, child and family services and refinement of the area’s overall standard of life.
