With an envious location on the San Francisco Bay and a fantastic year-round climate, Emeryville is a fantastic place for both active and passive recreation.

Boaters sail the sparkling waters of San Francisco Bay via the scenic Emeryville Marina or the nearby Berkeley Marina, while golf enthusiasts hit the greens at one of numerous surrounding golf courses. Emeryville also houses nine well-maintained City parks, the Emeryville Greenway, the Robert L. Savage Recreation Center, the Emeryville Community Swimming Pool and the newly renovated Emeryville Senior Center. These city-operated parks and facilities are highly utilized by both residents and visitors, as is year-round recreational programming for people of all ages. Residents participate in everything from athletic programs, youth camps and aquatics to a variety of enrichment classes such as dance, crafts and gardening through the City of Emeryville’s Parks & Recreation Department and the YMCA of the East Bay.

The East Bay Regional Park District also has a significant presence in the area, offering varying recreational activities, more than 1,150 miles of trails and a number of outstanding park sites. One of the most popular parks in the district is Tilden Regional Park in neighboring Berkeley. Noted as one of the oldest parks in the system, the more than 2,000-acre Tilden Regional Park houses a botanic garden, the Environmental Education Center, the Little Farm, a merry-go-round, a steam train, an 18-hole golf course and Lake Anza.

No matter the time of year, recreational enthusiasts are sure to find plenty of opportunity in Emeryville and the surrounding East Bay area.
