Fresno Chaffee Zoo is the only zoo serving the San Joaquin Valley and more than 400,000 visit each year to see, interact and learn about animals from around the world. Zoo Adventure Camp served 800 young people throughout the 2007 year. Thousands of children took field trips to the zoo and many received guided interpretive tours by the zoo docent volunteers who gave an amazing 13,500 hours to the zoo during the year. In 2007, more than 64,000 students, adults and zoo guests interacted with Education Department staff and volunteers through on-site programs, animal encounters, biofact carts and hands-on activities at the zoo's Exploration Station. More than 19,000 adults and children were reached through the zoo's ZooMobile outreach program, which visits schools, community centers and events throughout the Valley.

Fresno Chaffee Zoo is a conservation organization with programs that are diverse and growing. The zoo actively participates in conservation projects in our greater metropolitan area; is a community leader and resource for conservation and environmental education; participates with various zoological programs for all species housed at the zoo; participates with zoos in the worldwide strategies for wildlife conservation; and actively pursues higher standards for conservation of nature.

Fresno Chaffee Zoo is open every day of the year from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. General admission during regular zoo hours is $7 for adults, $3.50 for children 2-11 and seniors 62+, and children under two and Fresno Chaffee Zoo members are free.
