Transportation

Healdsburg has an envious location within Northern California, just 65 miles north of San Francisco and the Bay Area and is easily accessible via U.S. Route 101 (Redwood Highway). Several local thoroughfares intersect with the highway, and also offer convenient routes for getting around town.

Affordable public transit is supplied to commuters in Healdsburg. The City of Healdsburg manages Healdsburg Transit (HT), which offers fixed route bus and dial-a-ride services. Public transit buses make scheduled stops at 28 locations throughout the city, including the local hospital, schools, senior communities and major shopping areas.

HT links up with Sonoma County Transit at the Plaza and stops along Healdsburg Avenue. Sonoma County Transit operates a daily route (#60) within Healdsburg, providing a connection to Santa Rosa, where riders access a number of additional routes to various destinations, including scheduled routes via the Golden Gate Transit.

The City of Healdsburg oversees the Healdsburg Municipal Airport, a general aviation facility offering hangar, tie-down and fuel services. Nearby Santa Rosa is home to the Charles M. Schulz – Sonoma County Airport (STS), which is the region’s only airport offering scheduled commercial air service via Horizon Air. Fliers are able to reach Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Portland and Seattle seamlessly through STS. In addition to these airports, Healdsburg travelers have access to San Francisco International Airport (SFO), Oakland International Airport (OAK) and Sacramento International Airport (SMF).
